Hi, I'm on a HRT (Vivelle-Dot) but I'm also a limbolander, but I might be of some help. I was put on Vivelle-Dot after loosing all my hormones due to a hysterectomy. Both Vivelle-Dot and Climara seem to contain estradiol (a form of estrogen bioidentical to your body's own). In the summer, I have been on this med for a year.ESTRADIOL/Vivelle-Dot (es tra DYE ole) reduces the number and severity of hot flashes due to menopause. It may also help relieve the symptoms of menopause, such as vaginal irritation, dryness, or pain during sex. It can also be used to prevent osteoporosis after menopause. It works by increasing levels of the hormone estrogen in the body.The Vivelle - dot is applied twice/weekly and contains .39 mg estradiol, which is .78 mg estradiol/week which is around .11 mg/day (data says .025 mg/day). This is what is confusing me. According to my calculations, Menostar delivers .14 mg/day and Viville-dot delivers .11 mg/day (which is less than Menostar).Vivelle-Dot (NDA 020538) is an estradiol transdermal system that was approved based upon demonstration of bioequivalence to Vivelle. Vivelle-Dot delivers the same daily dose of estradiol as Vivelle but does so from a smaller active surface area. Vivelle-Dot is currently marketed for the same indications as Vivelle.•Start therapy with Vivelle-Dot 0.0375 mg/day. Dosage adjustment should be guided by the clinical response (2.1, 2.2, 2.3) •For the prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis, start therapy with Vivelle-Dot 0.025 . mg/day (2.4) Vivelle-Dot should be placed on a clean, dry area on the lower abdomen or buttocks.Estradiol (Estrace, Vivelle-Dot, Climara) is a moderately priced drug used to treat hot flashes and osteoporosis.
